Feel the heat again this summer as the Heatwave Music Festival is set to return to Chicago for its second year after a wildly successful 2022, and with a new home! Get your tickets for the June 10th and 11th celebration at the iconic Northerly Island for incredible dance music and breathtaking lakefront and skyline views. Here’s everything you need to know about the Heatwave Music Festival this year!

What is Heatwave Music Festival?

Heatwave Music Festival is the premiere dance music festival in Chicago. Think Lolla energy but more focused, immersive and far less chaotic with equally electrifying views. Entering its second year in Chicago, Heatwave attracts the most notable and in-demand EDM artists from around the world and with the early success garnered in Chicago it’s a strong bet that Heatwave will be a staple on the Chicago festival scene for years to come.

Check out our festival recap from last summer’s inaugural decision to catch a vibe of what we experienced.

Who Is Going to Be There?

Everyone? Is that an OK thing to say. The full lineup released last week and we have it posted below. But in terms of headliners, the likes of GRiZ, deadmau5 and Kaskade’s Kx5 superduo, Slander, and Tiësto certainly feels like a 2016 Chicago Cubs level lineup. Round out the notables with acts such as Loud Luxury, Cheat Codes, Gryffin, and Deorro and you’re good to go for at least five more hours. Overall, the full lineup is positioned to proved a variety of visual artists and creatives on center stage, bringing immersive art installations that fully elevates the festival experience.

How Do I Get Tickets?

Tickets are on sale now and can be grabbed via the Heatwave Music Festival website. This is a no-brainer for any music and/or festival fan, especially juxtaposed against the lofty price point of Lollapalooza. It’s also a festival with a purpose.

Heatwave Music Festival is a place where music meets imagination. It’s a vibrant technicolor wonderland where fans can dance to the sounds of globally leading dance music from the scene’s most celebrated artists. The two day event at Northerly Island will be backdropped by views of Chicago’s iconic skyline and surrounded on all sides by Lake Michigan, an ideal location in the heart of the city, making it a can’t-miss staple of summer festival season.

The General Information Tidbits

When: June 10th and 11th

Where: Northerly Island

Who: Everyone who is necessary and important…including YOU!

Getting there: This one is important because Northerly Island, while gorgeous, isn’t the most accessible place in the world. For starters, if you plan on driving into the city just know that the Kennedy is going to be a nightmare for the next 3 years due to a parting gift from our favorite incumbent mayor. Once you get downtown, your best option is finding a parking garage more toward the Loop and taking the L to Roosevelt and walking through museum campus or accessing a museum campus bus from there. It’s also June in Chicago, which might as well be heaven so just suck it up and walk because let’s be honest, no one likes trying to Uber in that area off 18th or McFetridge. You’ll thank us later.
