Exploring New Research on How Sports Fans Travel

Must read

If you ask any fan – odds are high that they would tell you they enjoy seeing their favorite team play at home. It’s an atmosphere unlike anything else where a group of people can all come together to root for one team. However, in the world of sports, not every game can be a home game.

Recently, Price4Limo conducted some research on sports fans travel behavior to gauge which fanbases are the most die-hard when it comes to following their teams on the road. In their research, they covered the big four professional men’s leagues, and even pulled together some rankings on which city is the best host to sports fans. With the Chicago Bears regular season set to begin in less than a month, let’s see what they found for the blue and orange loyalists!

On the Road for the Bears

Using Price4Limo’s research on sports fans travel tendencies and preferences, we’ve decided to take a look at a couple upcoming away games for the Bears to explore some trip options for fans this season.

Chicago Bears @ Washington Commanders (10/05)

The first game on the team’s schedule you’ll want to consider traveling for comes on October 5. In week five, the Chicago Bears face off against the Commanders in what we can only hope turns into a win. As of now, the Commanders are expected to start their second-year quarterback, Sam Howell, who only started (and played) one game for them last year. On top of the chance to see win, what makes a trip out to Washington DC even better is the city ranks third in Price4Limo’s findings with a score of 37.

And if you or anyone you might end up traveling with likes to gamble on games or in a casino, the city ranked 4th in that area, while its best ranking was second for hotels.

Chicago Bears @ Minnesota Vikings (11/27)

Another game you could opt for that’s a little closer to home comes on November 27 which is right before the team’s bye week against an NFC North opponent.

Minneapolis, home to the Minnesota Vikings, earned the second highest score in Price4Limo’s sports fans travel study with a score of 41. Miami ended up receiving the top ranking with 45 out of 100.

The Bears first matchup against the Vikings takes place on October 15 during week 6, and while we can be hopeful that at least one of those games ends up in a win, we’ll need some hope from the weeks leading up to those games to make us more confident in that. Fortunately, as the second ranked city from Price4Limo’s sports fan travel survey, there’s plenty of other things to do outside of sitting in the city’s stadiums – which just happen to rank first on the list. Hotels rank 9th, sports bars rank 12th, and even sports stores rank 13th. Although, with the Mall of America so close, you could choose to shop elsewhere for the trip.
